You know the old saying, “Unusual times call for lemonade”….
or is it…….”When life hands you lemons, zoom” ?
Anyway…. Guilds, Quilt shops and Quilters everywhere have been engaged in helping and staying connected.
Every quilter I know has sewn masks (sometimes thousands of them!) and helped neighbors.
And Guilds have adopted Zoom and other digital meetings as a way of staying connected….. and quilt teachers have followed suit.
I’m delighted to announce that I am now offering my workshops, lectures and trunk shows on Zoom! I’ve long used powerpoint presentations as the basis for my lectures, so adapting lectures to Zoom is pretty straight forward. Presenting my quilts in a trunk show has turned out to be lots of fun on Zoom. Everyone gets a front row seat so I can show you the fabrics and piecing and quilting that make up my designs.
Workshops also turn out to be lots of fun as well. Its easy to demonstrate techniques and step-by-step methods and my live workshops allow everyone to be involved, all from the comfort of your own sewing spaces. I’ve found it very helpful to divide each workshop into several Zoom meetings. Techniques are learned in each meeting, but the time between meetings allows everyone to work at their own pace.
