VW Beetle (2007, 21×18)
I have a soft spot in my heart for VW Bugs. Many of my friends owned these iconic cars in the 70s, and I played “punch-buggy” with my kids as these cars became rarer on the roads. I also enjoy quilts that “suggest” the image; in this case, a partial front view of this VW Beetle is enough to identify the car. Close ups are an opportunity to capture the essence of iconic forms. This close up view also celebrates line and shape, important elements in any quilt.
