Color and the use of patterned fabrics are ideas that have long been at the heart of quilting. And while there are many opportunities for quilters to learn about color,
it is much rarer for workshops to focus on the use of patterned fabrics in quilts. Quilt designs involve a series of visual decisions about the which fabrics to include and where they will appear in a quilt design. In a series of 3 live virtual sessions, this workshop will explore the ways in which patterned fabrics contribute to the overall design of a quilt. We will discuss the elements of patterned fabric , the ways in which fabrics interact visually and how different fabric selections impact the look of a quilt. In each live Zoom session, participants will be able to ask questions and learn how these ideas can be applied to their own quilt designs. There are no assignments or projects for this workshop, just lively discussion about patterned fabrics!
